    75% Grant Funding for EV Chargers Available.

    Midland Fire can help you get up to 75% funding from the Government. OZEV (Office for Zero Emission Vehicles) is offering generous grants to businesses up until 31st March 2026. The scheme is called The Workplace Charging Scheme and provides support for up to 40 electric vehicle chargepoint sockets across your sites.

    The Workplace Charging Scheme

    The scheme covers up to 75% of the total costs of the purchase and installation of EV chargepoints (including VAT), capped at a maximum of:

    • £350 per socket
    • Funding for up to 40 sockets across all sites per applicant

      For instance, if you want to install them at 40 sites, you will have 1 socket available per site.

    For State Funded Schools and Educational Institutions

    OZEV have set up a separate scheme for schools and educational institutions with more generous funding.

    Educational institutions can get 75% off the cost to buy and install chargepoints up to a maximum of:

    • £2,500 per socket
    • Funding for up to 40 sockets across all sites

      Includes any applications made previously via the Workplace Charging Scheme.

    You can make multiple claims up to your allocation of 40 sockets.
    Academy trusts can apply for up to the maximum of 40 sockets for each institution within the academy trust.

    The benefits of an electric fleet

    Electrifying your fleet of company vehicles.

    • Capital allowance for electric vehicles

      If you have purchased an Electric Company Vehicle you can claim Capital Allowance. This is 100% of the vehicle cost which can be deducted from your taxable profit. For more up-to-date information you can find this on the HMRC website.

    • BIK tax

      With Electric Vehicles releasing lower CO2 emissions you can expect your Benefit In Kind (BIK) Tax to be lower.

    • Low emission vehicles grant

      For Vans, Trucks and Taxis you can purchase vehicles at a discounted rate which is subsidised by the Government. However, this is only on specific government-approved vehicles.

      For Small Vans, a dealer can apply a 35% discount to the price at a maximum of £2,500. For large Vans, this maximum discount is £5,000. Trucks can have a 20% discount applied up to £16,000 for small and £25,000 for large. Taxis also can have a 20% discount with a maximum discount of £7,500. You can view the exact vehicles included here.
